Bokdrol spoeg
November 21st, 2007 at 12:55 pm by jamesI had the delightful experience of participating in some traditional games on Monday evening, including bokdrol spoeg, which translates roughly into spitting-dry-antelope-shit-into-a-bucket-placed-some-distance-away. Never one to shy away from a test of skill …
I shall have some stories to tell in the US next week.

Dear Adlards
My daughter and I were wondering about the “bokdrolspoeg” competitions, and she maintains that real antelope droppings are used, while I cannot believe that people would really put something like that in their mouths. We searched the Internet and came across your site. Would you please oblige us by letting us know whether you used real droppings when you took part in this particular test of skill from which you were brave enough not to shy away?
Looking forward to your reply.

PS: where in the world are you living now?

Hi Louise; regretfully your daughter is correct. My advice, for what it’s worth, is to try really hard to imagine it’s a stone. Yuk.
